El NXP PCF8563 es un reloj de tiempo real de CMOS1 y calendario optimizado para bajo consumo de potencia. También se proporciona una salida de reloj programable, una salida de interrupción y un detector de tensión baja. Todas las direcciones y datos se transfieren en serie a través de un bus I2C bidireccional de dos líneas. La velocidad máxima del bus es de 400 kbit/s.
